About the role

The Senior Manager, Finance Systems and Reporting, is responsible for the  leadership of managing and optimizing financial systems, reporting tools, and analytics  processes across the organization. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to  support finance operations, develop financial reporting strategies, and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of financial data. The Senior Manager will lead projects that enhance the efficiency of financial processes, automate reporting, and drive actionable insights for stakeholders at all levels.  Responsibility to drive/leverage artificial intelligence, for the purpose of shifting work time from ad-hoc analysis to analytics.

  • Provides leadership of the administration, configuration, and optimization of financial systems (e.g., ERP, budgeting and forecasting tools, financial reporting platforms). Partners with IT and external vendors to manage system upgrades, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities. Leads financial systems implementation or migration projects, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Documents processes and results. Works with Information Technology to maintain technical standards and practices for software systems
  • Develop and manage standardized reporting templates, dashboards, and metrics to support decision-making. Provide expertise in financial data analysis, visualization, and automation, transforming data into insights. Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and yearend reporting processes to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant reporting. Helps maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data to validate against controls
  • Leads and works with software systems project teams and will direct the project activities of Finance staff and will cooperatively direct the project activities of other subject matter experts assigned to support Finance software system projects.
  • Serves as Finance Department liaison to Information Technology staff, vendor resources, and other staff resources that utilize financial systems. Administers user security and configures the software systems owned by the Finance Department.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements, data quality improvement, and reporting efficiency. Drive automation of routine reporting and data management tasks, reducing manual intervention and errors. Implement best practices in financial reporting to enhance data reliability and accessibility. Works to provide documentation and training for users of Finance systems.
  • Ensure financial data integrity and adherence to compliance standards, internal controls, and data governance policies. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for finance system performance and data accuracy.
  • Develops and documents workflow processes to create efficiency in the operation of financial systems. Works with Information Technology staff to implement complex workflow processes. Works with finance department to develop and integrate systems solutions that enhance productivity and process efficiencies. Provides recommendations on suggested system enhancements and technology changes that strengthen the use of technology for financial systems. Provides analysis and review of operational procedures regarding enhancements and process flow improvements that will process financial data or interface to financial systems
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of financial systems and reporting analysts. Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, IT, and other departments to align finance systems and reporting needs with business goals. Act as a subject matter expert in finance systems and reporting, training finance teams on new tools and processes.

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field
  • 7 – 10 years finance leadership and systems experience.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of financial processes; including modeling, control, analysis, reporting and budgeting. Knowledge and experience with complex financial application system software projects, system maintenance, tools and support. 
  • Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities. • Proven track record in enhancing reporting processes and delivering actionable insights. • Critical thinker and the ability to make connections cross functionally. • Self-directed and enjoy trying new things and taking on challenges. • Excellent oral and written communications skills. • Demonstrated skill and experience in initiating and leading entity wide system and process changes. • Skill in the management of projects within scope, time, and financial constraints
