Stellar Solutions is seeking an Enterprise Digital Engineering Architect Super SME to support a proposed Environmental Monitoring mission area within a broader Space-Based Sensing and Tracking enterprise. This role provides enterprise-level digital engineering, MBSE, architecture, mission-thread analysis, cross-program integration, and effects-chain analysis support to help government customers establish scalable engineering discipline across programs at varying stages of maturity. The role is intended to provide cross-mission leadership and shape the digital-engineering foundation needed to connect requirements, architectures, mission threads, data flows, effects chains, verification approaches, and operational outcomes.
Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications
This is a senior technical expert role supporting enterprise-level digital engineering strategy, model governance, and cross-program integration. The role advises customer leadership, guides engineering teams, and helps establish digital-engineering practices that are actionable, governed, and connected to mission outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as an enterprise-level digital engineering and MBSE subject matter expert supporting Environmental Monitoring and related space-based sensing mission areas.
- Develop, assess, and mature digital engineering strategies, MBSE approaches, architecture frameworks, model governance, and engineering data standards.
- Support cross-program integration by connecting mission needs, operational effects, requirements, architectures, interfaces, data flows, verification activities, and program execution.
- Lead or support mission thread analysis, effects-chain analysis, and end-to-end capability mapping from sensor collection through ground processing, dissemination, user action, and mission outcome.
- Establish digital-engineering foundations during early program activation, including model structure, architecture repositories, data standards, and governance rhythms.
- Support Define-Assess-Forecast-Build activities by identifying digital-engineering competency gaps, model maturity, workforce needs, and scalable technical approaches.
- Work across mission systems engineers, program office teams, acquisition stakeholders, contractors, operational users, ground systems teams, and enterprise leadership.
- Evaluate existing architecture products, models, requirements structures, interface documentation, and digital artifacts to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for reuse.
- Develop and refine architecture views, mission threads, operational viewpoints, system viewpoints, interface mappings, and traceability structures.
- Support acquisition engineering by helping align digital artifacts with RFPs, SOWs/PWSs, CDRLs, evaluation criteria, technical reviews, and contractor deliverables.
- Provide executive-level recommendations on digital-engineering adoption, model maturity, toolchain strategy, cross-program dependencies, and enterprise integration risks.
- Support progression toward IOC and FOC by ensuring digital-engineering products are actionable, governed, and connected to mission outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of systems engineering, digital engineering, MBSE, architecture, mission engineering, enterprise integration, SETA, FFRDC, or government advisory experience.
- Senior-level experience leading digital engineering transformation, MBSE implementation, architecture modernization, model governance, or enterprise engineering strategy.
- Experience supporting government space, ISR, GEOINT, remote sensing, radar/RF, SAR, environmental monitoring, satellite ground systems, mission-data, or national security programs.
- Familiarity with architecture frameworks, digital-thread concepts, mission threads, effects-chain analysis, requirements traceability, interface management, and model-based lifecycle support.
- Experience with tools and methods such as Cameo, MagicDraw, SysML, UAF, DoDAF, UPDM, MBSE repositories, digital twins, model governance, or architecture data environments.
- Ability to guide senior government customers, engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders through digital-engineering adoption and execution.
