Senior Technical IT Accountant

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the monthly and quarterly close processes for IT-related accounts, including:
- IT accruals and prepaid expenses
- Cloud computing software arrangements (including SaaS and IaaS)
- Internally developed software projects, including capitalization of internal labor
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., ASC 350-40, ASC 985-20, ASC 842) and internal policies.
- Prepare and maintain detailed supporting schedules and documentation for IT-related journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Collaborate with IT project managers and finance teams to track and account for capitalized software development costs, project expenses, and on-going IT expenditures.
- Partner with Procurement and Accounts Payable to ensure proper classification and timing of IT expenses. Develop working relationships with key international business partners to work collaboratively in the effective resolution of global IT operational and accounting matters.
- Assist in the preparation of IT budgets and forecasts, including variance analysis and tracking of actuals vs. budget.
- Support internal and external audit requests related to IT accounting.
- Continuously improve processes and controls related to IT financial reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a focus on IT or technical accounting.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, especially related to software capitalization and cloud computing arrangements.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Workday) and financial reporting tools.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with data analytics tools a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
