About the job
As a Demo Engineer, you will have a large impact on the go-to-market execution at Segment. Part of the Presales organization, you will be responsible for building, managing and maintaining all of the Segment demonstration assets. This includes demo collateral, web applications, demo tooling, and technical integrations used to showcase our capabilities and differentiate from the competition. You will work alongside the Presales team to drive innovation into these demo environments to maximize outcomes for sales and partners. You will also act as a critical liaison between Sales and the Product team, sharing feedback with the Product Management, Operations, and Engineering functions at Segment.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
- Build comprehensive use case demos for Solutions Engineers to leverage in customer facing calls which may include websites and applications connected to Segment Workspaces.
- Utilize your software engineering expertise to ensure the technical accuracy and reliability of demo environments and demo tooling, including integrations with other partner technology.
- Develop visually appealing, interactive demo environments using a range of tools, empowering AEs and SEs to provide self-service demos that highlight delightful user experiences.
- Stay abreast of product updates and enhancements, and incorporate them into the demo environments as appropriate to showcase the latest features and improvements.
- Gather feedback from end users and use insights to continuously enhance and refine demo content and delivery.

Required:
- 3+ years of experience in software development, with a strong understanding of RESTful APIs, web frameworks and integrating SaaS platforms.
- Experience learning, understanding and communicating complex technical concepts to internal stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of Javascript including experience using Node and React with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies as needed.
- Experience developing and deploying full stack, web-based applications with a focus on creating intuitive user interfaces and seamless user experiences.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering projects with tight deadlines and incomplete information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail.
Desired:
- Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, GCP, AWS is a plus.
- Experience with NextJS or similar frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases and database management.
- You are passionate about data infrastructure and stay informed about new trends, technologies, and frameworks
Location
This role will be remote.
Travel
We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role, approximately 25% travel is anticipated to help you connect in-person in a meaningful way.
