Overview
LMI seeks an Event Planner to support our OUSD(A&S) customer in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities
Support a team of event planners responsible for organizing events and conferences for national and international visitors to a U.S. government office.
Organize meals, tours, programs, documents for distribution, audio-visual needs, transportation, translation services and accommodations as required.
Manage government gift locker for international visitors. Work in conjunction with a government contracting officer, government sponsors of events, and existing protocol offices to provide support.
Support other team event planners in documenting best practices and practical guidance in an Event Planning guide for on-going use by the government office.
- Attend and participate in meetings, take meeting notes, record taskers and actions, and update the staff when necessary.
- Prepare briefings as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university field.
- One (1) year event planning support experience to include:
- Experience managing customer expectations and working directly with customers;
- Outstanding customer service abilities combined with initiative, judgment, creativity, and flexibility.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft applications.
- Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. For this position, a current SECRET level security clearance is required, and a TOP SECRET clearance preferred, with a capability to obtain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Access.
- Other preferred qualifications include two (2) years’ experience supporting events with a Federal Agency or multinational organization with the following:
- Knowledge of options within the Pentagon for catering, photography and
- Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment.
- Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities.
