Description
Metropolitan Companies is looking for a Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer to join our team! The is vital to the success of The WisdomTree Group, our architectural division. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience designing systems for multifamily and commercial buildings. The candidate should be a competent Mechanical Engineer, capable of designing and engineering a project from initial concept through completed construction. - Work independently to develop the HVAC design from conceptual design through construction documentation phase based on project scope
- Perform field surveys to develop scope and assess existing conditions
- Perform engineering calculations
- Analyze and apply applicable construction codes
- Coordinate design with other trades (Architectural, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection)
- Provide construction observation services
- Prepare HVAC project specifications independently and develop a company master specification
- Participate and collaborate in project team setting and engage in creative and critical thought
- Other responsibilities as designated by management
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Requirements:- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
- 5 years of job-related experience
- Professional Engineering License is required
- LEED accreditation is not a requirement
- Hands-on experience with engineering, design, building, and mechanical code requirements, with emphasis on multifamily facilities including market-rate housing.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, means and methods, materials, and industry standards
- Energy efficient design knowledge is a plus
- Project field experience (punch list and physical needs assessments)
- Demonstrate professional technical writing skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in ArchiCAD or other BIM, (Building Information Modeling) applications
