JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Research, Instruction and Information Technology (RIIT) Group provides comprehensive IT support for approximately 300 faculty and staff of the Smeal College of Business. In addition, the RIIT Group provides IT and Facilities support for all users of the Business Building. Due to the number of General Purpose Classrooms in the building and the popularity of our conference and events spaces, our customers extend beyond the 6,000+ students and 400 faculty and staff within Smeal, to include the entire University and beyond.

This position will oversee the RIIT Group service/reception operations. This includes direct supervision of two full-time employees. All events and meetings are scheduled through the Service Desk Team, whose members assist with organization, planning and set-up/tear-down for events. This position will also serve as overall office manager for RIIT Group, eLDIG and CRM teams within Smeal, including budget management for all three teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

  • Manage the operational activities of the office, set priorities; establish and assign tasks; ensure schedules are maintained and deadlines are met; develop processes and procedures for department. 

  • Oversee operations at the reception desk and provide direct supervision of assigned staff. 

  • Provide administrative support for the three immediate unit directors (Director of Learning design, Director of Facilities and Events, and IT Director) to include scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements, and providing budget support.

  • Lead the process of search, hiring and training for assigned staff. May assist with the same for other parts of the team.

  • Monitor human resources administrative matters; ensure deadlines are met. 

  • Process purchase orders for a wide variety of equipment and services used throughout the Smeal College of Business.

  • Interpret, communicate, and monitor academic/administrative, budgetary, and human resources policies and procedures; ensure compliance with policies and procedures. 

  • Serve as back-up in the responsibilities of Parking Chair and Master Access Coordinator.

  • Assist with unit-wide space assignments and coordinate annual summer moves to accommodate incoming new faculty hires.
