Position overview:
The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division of Finance, Bureau of Collection Services is seeking to hire a highly motivated and energetic candidate to serve as Bureau Chief by planning, organizing, and evaluating the activities of the Bureau. This position is a full line supervisor, recommending and imposing discipline up to and including discharge. The Bureau Chief provides administrative direction to managers in the Third-Party Liability (TPL) and Technical Recovery Sections (TRS) to maximize recoveries and cost avoidance and establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with State, local, and public agencies. This position meets with Department management staff to plan, develop, and implement new or revised policies or programs affecting BOC and other operational areas within and outside of the Department and assists top management in the development and review of legislation pertinent to the programs of the Bureau. The ideal candidate will have experience in a public or business organization, preferably with accounting, external auditing, budgetary planning and control, or insurance subrogation experience.
