About the role

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for control of the poker games and assures that guests have a favorable gaming experience while playing poker.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deal and control poker game.
  • Assists guests with seating and chip distribution.
  • Responsible for keeping a list of new players and guests wanting to learn the game.
  • Responsible for keeping the poker room in order.
  • Ensure the safety and security of guests and team members.
  • Complete knowledge of all facilities available to guests on property.  Always maintain a pleasant, friendly and welcoming attitude with use of facial expressions and knowledge of all special events and promotional activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions.
  • Ability to use chips and cards.
  • Needs to have a good hand/eye coordination.
  • Knowledgeable of specified games and gaming regulations.
  • Ability to add monies.
  • Knowledge of theft techniques.
  • Excellent public relations/customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressure in an interruptive environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Technical school education in poker dealing.
  • Must hold a valid gaming license by the state.

MENTAL & PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Sitting  80%
  • Walking 10%
  • Standing 10%
  • Repetitive hand motions.
  • Casino environment exposed to hot and cold temperatures, excessive noise levels, and bright lights.
  • High rise hotel
  • Use of stairs, elevators and escalators.
