ESSENTIAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
Within the first 30 days and ongoing:
- Learns Marvin’s mission, core values, operational procedures, product, service history, learning the core offerings, and how Marvin differentiates themselves from competitors. Is present and visible to all employees to build rapport and trust.
- Becomes familiar with Marvin’s HR policies, procedures, and processes to obtain a 360 degree view of Marvin’s Human Resources functions as it relates to operations and the enterprise to identify inefficiencies and successful functions.
- Meets with the HR team individually to gain further understanding of assessed processes/cyclical processes and/or procedures, pain points or bottlenecks and becomes familiar with all HR software management tools utilized by Marvin.
- Meets and develops rapport with the following teams: Plant leadership, Process Support Group, CI, Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, Quality, Maintenance, Machine Automations, and the Sourcing/Materials to gain familiarity and how each work cross functionally with one another.
- Completes all internal training required for the Senior HR manager as outlined in the onboarding plan. Displays a continuous learning mindset and eagerness to dive in and support different projects each day to better understand Marvin’s process.
- Partners with the Director of HR to gain a foundational understanding of Marvin’s HR administrative responsibilities, and with the Plant Manager and Senior Director of Operations to learn the requirements and location of all reporting and how to define KPIs and metrics.
3 - 6 months and ongoing:
- Is proficient in utilizing Marvin’s HRIS system and any supporting transitory work and demonstrates the ability to collaborate, influence, mentor, & work effectively across multiple teams for
- Is seen as an active and productive member of the Roanoke leadership team, and an active member of the H.R. Senior Manager Cohort and attends monthly meetings to add value and provide insight on Marvin’s People and Organization’s strategy.
- Is consistently receiving positive feedback working with all employees on projects and has an in depth knowledge of Marvin’s organizational goals to ensure alignment with its people strategy.
- Begins to develop and formulate Marvin’s local strategy and leadership development goals. Is fully autonomous in the reporting, metrics and KPIs of the role.
6 – 12 months and ongoing:
- Is fully integrated into the Marvin culture and is the chief thought and culture strategist for the location. Leads the team in culture initiatives, development and strategy.
- Is 100% proficient in the requirements of the role and fully understands Marvin’s present needs and Marvin’s growth plan for year 2 through 5.
- Meets regularly with direct reports individually to review performance, discuss their personal and professional goals and collaborate on a growth plan to successfully achieve those goals.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in a Human Resources Management role (i.e. site lead HR Manager level responsibility) in a diverse manufacturing environment required
- Proven experience managing a team of professionals required
- Professional HR certification (i.e. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent) highly preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency working with MS Office and HR technology platforms required; knowledge of Microsoft Teams, ADP, and Origami platforms preferred
- Proven experience leading an HR department with enterprise influence; techniques and eval
