Experience an exciting summer internship at RWE Clean Energy, where you'll work with industry experts, contribute to real-world projects, forge valuable connections in a supportive intern cohort, and grow personally and professionally in the sustainable energy sector. The PV Optimization Intern will play a vital role in assisting the Development Engineering team at RWE Clean Energy. The intern will delve into specialized PV layouts and design feasibility, taking the lead in analyzing meteorological data using MCP methodology to evaluate project resources. Additionally, this role involves close collaboration with finance and engineering teams to conduct sensitivity analysis, drive software development, and test enhancements within our advanced cloud-based toolset.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create a dedicated PV layout and provide support on the constructability and design of layouts
  • Analyze meteorological datasets and utilize MCP (measure-correlate-predict) methodology to assess project resource characteristics
  • Run PO/PR process in SAP as required to assist the team
  • Support internal project and optimization teams on miscellaneous technical and administrative activities
  • Review PPA, IA, and RFPs for internal portfolio projects while supporting the interconnection team
  • Work with the finance teams to support project sensitivity analysis and respond to IE questions
  • Support in software development for enhancements to cloud based software hub for internal tools
  • Test new software developed with software and PV engineer’s support

 

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in an accredited US university program, pursuing a degree in electrical, civil, mechanical, or related engineering field.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills to manage multiple projects and engineering team initiatives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interface with internal and external stakeholders to meet project deadlines
  • Technical knowledge of PV and electrical systems a plus
  • Understanding of project economics to design cost cost-efficient a plus

 

This is a full-time 12-week summer internship starting at the end of May in our Chicago or San Francisco office.  

Pay range: The hourly range for this position in California is $25 per hour - $30 per hour. The listed hourly range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
