About the role

The Project Support Specialist will provide temporary, project-based support to the Director of Equitable and Strategic Initiatives. Over the 3-month period, this individual will assist with key deliverables across several public health equity initiatives, including data collection, coordination, and administrative support for the CHEE Fund, EmpowerHer Conference outcomes, COVID-19 Community Impact report, and the Boston in Common Health Equity Broadcast Show.

This role is ideal for someone interested in community health, data reporting, or public health strategy, who is looking for a short-term opportunity to contribute to impactful work in Boston's communities.

DUTIES:

· Working to help BPHC become an antiracist organization by meeting or exceeding the standards set by the BPHC Anti-Racism Policy.

 

Project Support:

· Assist with compiling data and formatting materials for:

o EmpowerHer Conference outcomes report

o COVID-19 Community Impact report

· Help coordinate monthly meetings and logistics for the CHEE Fund, including scheduling, agendas, and follow-ups.

· Support planning for the Boston in Common Health Equity Broadcast Show, including documentation and meeting prep.

· Track timelines and deliverables in collaboration with the Director.

 

Administrative and Coordination Tasks:

· Take meeting notes and summarize key action items.

· Organize digital files and reports for internal use.

· Draft communications and assist with scheduling meetings across teams and community partners.

· Provide support for stakeholder engagement efforts tied to the Live Long and Well Agenda.

 

Additional Support (as needed):

· Light data entry, basic quantitative/qualitative summaries.

· Help develop materials for technical assistance to grantees under the CHEE Fund.

· Collaborate with staff or other team members on specific tasks and deadlines.

· Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

· Strong organizational and time-management skills.

· Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

· Ability to communicate professionally and follow up on tasks.

· Interest or background in public health, health equity, community engagement, or related fields.

· Familiarity with tools like Canva or other design platforms is a plus.

 

Preferred or Plus:

· Experience working with city departments, coalitions, and community-based organizations.

· Knowledge of ARPA funding requirements and processes.

· Knowledge in grant writing and fundraising.

· Bilingual or multilingual skills (preferred but not required)

· Experience in trauma-informed approaches to programming and staff management
