The Design Project Engineer will lead the design and development of custom, engineered-to-order generator systems. This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanical engineer with strong CAD expertise who thrives in a hands-on, project-driven environment and enjoys bringing complex designs to life.
In this role, you will serve as the technical lead and design owner for customer-specific generator set solutions—delivering high-quality, cost-effective products that support mission-critical power applications. You’ll collaborate across global, cross-functional teams and play a key role in translating customer needs into manufacturable, real-world solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the mechanical design and CAD development of custom generator sets, enclosures, and system accessories
Own projects from initial customer requirements through engineering release and production support
Develop detailed parametric models, assemblies, and drawings using Creo
Provide technical leadership by guiding CAD designers and supporting global engineering resources
Partner cross-functionally with:
Sales & Application Engineering to translate customer needs into engineered solutions
Electrical, controls, and harness teams to ensure full system integration
Manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure design for manufacturability
Purchasing to support accurate component selection and on-time delivery
Evaluate materials, components, and design approaches to optimize performance, cost, and quality
Identify technical risks and drive effective, data-informed solutions
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering efficiency and custom order processes
Occasionally engage with customers and global engineering teams
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) with 5+ years of experience
OR
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) with 3+ years of experienceStrong hands-on experience with Creo CAD modeling (required)
Proven experience designing industria
