About the role

POSITION PROFILE 

Weber Shandwick is seeking a Senior Vice President, North American Lead of Brand Safety & Influencer Risk with expertise in corporate communications and influencer marketing. A self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and integrated media mindset, the SVP will be responsible for capability development regarding the scaling of standardized methodologies, staffing, overall offering, external marketing, and thought leadership. The position will also contribute actively to new business responses and building of our brand safety team and influencer strategy team. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Leads the agency’s brand safety and Influencer risk center of excellence, in partnership with agency influencer strategy leaders. 
  • Earns the trust of senior level and C-suite clients with strategic counsel regarding influencer marketing risk management – both individual risk assessments, campaign timing, campaign messaging, brand partnership evaluation and crisis management. 
  • Senior counsel across a few large accounts, with potential to be embedded as ongoing specialist serving as subject matter expert on Brand Safety and influencer matters. 

 

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with important partners adjacent to Brand Safety (legal, creative, influencer strategy, account leaders) serving as a trusted resource and advisor. 

 

  • Collaborates effectively with inter-agency teams to develop influencer risk plans for our clients. 
  • Drives necessary improvements and new ideas to exceed agency and client expectations by leveraging industry knowledge and experience. 
  • In partnership with senior Influencer team members, drives and contributes to the evolution of the Agency’s POV for Influencer marketing.  
  • Leads brand safety and influencer risk technology innovation discovery and implementation in partnership with Influencer steering committee & product team. 

 

  • Has a business growth mindset and desire to build teams, grow accounts and bring in new prospects.   
  • Designs and establishes strong influencer risk teams on accounts large and small across North America. 
  • Proactively and effectively grows and retains talent across NA through coaching and mentorship, identifying and encouraging participation in training, development, and career growth opportunities for team members.  
  • Manages ongoing team resourcing/staffing to ensure successful delivery of work product. 
  • Participates in agency development and assist with new business. 
  • Demonstrates financial acumen in the areas of budgeting, billing and staffing. 

Qualifications: 

  • 9+ years of experience, preferably within an agency environment  
  • Strong understanding of the overall corporate issues & crisis, brand safety and influencer marketing landscape. 
  • Deep expertise in managing brand safety, influencer risk assessments, along with leading corporate issues teams. 
  • Strong knowledge of social platforms and influencer marketing tools/platforms. 
  • Detail-oriented, multi-tasker with excellent time-management skills.  
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.  
  • Experience leading a team. 

 

Is this you? 

Have “Gravitas” in the influencer space and skin-in-the-game:  Strong understanding of the influencer landscape. Proven ability to build solid risk mitigation plans and navigate issues as they arise. You must be open to a public-facing role; willingness to speak publicly about influencer and brand safety trends when opportunities present itself.
