Department Overview:
Clinical Operations at Tessera supports the patient journey through transitions of care, achieve patients’ Life Map goals, and coordinates healthcare services to embrace the patient. Client Operations can coordinate and wrap clinical and community services to support the patient’s care environment transitions achieving effective high-quality patient-centered care. Our team of clinical and population health experts’ partner with health plans, hospitals and health systems, providers, and communities to focus what matters to the patient and find new ways to meet the real healthcare needs of people and their caregivers through technology, touch, and pioneering design.

As a Director of Clinical Operations you will:
- Under the direction of the VP of Client Operations provide strategic direction to the care team members of the Client Operations department
- Responsible for the clinical performance of the team as well as the strategic operations and initiatives
- Oversee the efficient and effective operations of the business
A Day in the Life:
- Develops operational plans and departmental goals and objectives consistent with medical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements of the health care delivery system
- Monitor staff performance and coach for continuous improvement
- Draft policies and procedures pertaining to the business as well as ensure that implementation of such policies and procedures are completed; review existing policies and procedures on an annual basis and recommend changes as appropriate
- Lead and cultivate a team of clinicians and non-clinicians to include registered nurses, advance nurse practitioners, physical therapists, behavioral health specialists, registered dieticians, pharmacists, quality assurance specialists, and care navigators
- Directs clinical activities, including patient assessment, care plan development, service level determination, patient visits, and complaint management
- Plans, organizes and directs all activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating and continuing education initiatives
- Prepares and monitors budget(s) and ensures that assigned programs operates within allocated funds. Coordinates and directs internal and externally-driven audits
- Identify, assess, and inform the Executive Leadership of internal and external issues that affect the organization
- Escalate customer issues/concerns/problems in a pro-active and timely manner within reporting structure
- Perform other duties as assigned
What Success Looks Like in this Role:
- Experience in healthcare system strategic planning, financial analysis, and modeling
- Understanding of healthcare economics and infrastructure of various lines of business
- Knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations and accrediting bodies
- Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, professionalism, judgment, and discretion
- In-depth experience in care coordination improvement/enhancement processes and standards
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
Requirements
We are excited about you if you have these things:
- 5+ years’ clinical leadership, experience in care management and population health
- Master's degree in nursing or related field; Bachelor's degree in Nursing if Master's is not in Nursing
- Expertise in interpersonal relationships, organizational relations, and effective communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills are required
- Previous leadership experience including responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work and managing performance of all onsite and remote operations
- Active and unrestricted nursing license
