Job Purpose
This position will support our Corporate Engineering team as a Summer Intern from May 2024 – August 2024, and will be based in Nashville. This is a paid, full-time Internship. The intern will report to a Corporate Engineer Project Manager.
In this position you will have the opportunity to:
- Learn the process of manufacturing Engineered Wood Products with at least one on-site visit to a LP Manufacturing Facility.
- Develop a business case for a capital project using LP’s CPMS process. Develop scope, schedule, budget, and forecasted spends. Upload into LP’s Capital Planning software for approvals. If time permits, intern will execute a portion of the project work. The project will be pre-determined and appropriate for intern’s abilities.
- Audit files in SharePoint, LP’s web-based document management and storage system. Review folders to ensure required documentation is available and in correct location. Create catalog to identify missing content for each Mill. If time permits, intern will work to locate or develop missing content.
- Participate in Corporate Engineering Team meetings.
- Participate in mentoring opportunities within the LP Engineering community.

Education
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Engineering
Work Environment
- This position will work at home and in our Nashville office on a hybrid schedule with at least one onsite visit to a manufacturing facility.
