Summary:
The Senior Application Administrator is responsible for configuration/modifications of in-house, vendor hosted, cloud based and/or COTS software applications. Position will contribute to solution design, configuration, deployment, maintenance, and upgrades of the assigned software applications including managing system security, user roles/permissions, monitoring and optimizing application performance. Responsible for understanding business requirements and configuring program properties to meet business needs. This position is responsible for business requirements gathering, documentation, set-up activities, configuration, testing and user support for application software. The Senior Application Administrator provides technical direction for specific process and sub-process areas or assigned tasks. The Senior Application Administrator also interfaces with Business Stakeholders, IT Infrastructure teams and Development teams to ensure that business requirements are properly configured within the application. Provides expert technical direction to functional configurators and contractors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform system administration with COTS Applications
Work with the business to develop solutions to support their processes. Participate in and provide technical expertise as a project team member in various application implementations.
Assist in the planning, development, and launch of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house applications.
Monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key applications in production environment as identified by Business Owners or Technical Teams.
Collaborate with PM's, PSE, and Business Owners to assess priorities and ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
Perform daily monitoring and troubleshooting of in-house and COTS applications
Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
Coordinate with vendors for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.
Take an active role in cross-departmental projects when needed.
Perform Tier III troubleshooting on assigned applications and coordinate with software and hardware suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.
Coordinate and perform testing, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
Collaborate with analysts, designers, developers and system owners in the testing of software programs and applications.
Evaluate, install, configure, and support deployment of applications, software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
Conduct all types of application testing as needed, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods.
Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
Produce reports and documentation for all testing efforts, results, activities, data, logging, and tracking.
Provide guidance to junior members of the team.
Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
Analyze documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality.
Support the preparation of proposals, business plans, standard process documentation and other documents related to the government contract.
Provide daily production support to end-user community for a specific SAP module(s).
Work closely with the internal customers to prepare functional development specifications and potential system configuration changes. Gather detail requirements from business users for approved large scale projects and small enhancements to existing projects.
Coordinate User Acceptance testing (UAT) with the business customer. Provide input to Business Requirement Documents (BRD) and functional specification documents to UAT and system test groups, in order to assist with testing scenarios.
