Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. has multiple openings for Construction Project Manager to be based in New York, NY.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support overall management administration to project and assist in establishing project-specific objectives and policies.
• Provide technical direction and guidance other team members, enforce company and project policies, maintain close client interface, and ensure all facets of the project are constructed per design, budget and schedule through subordinate project staff.
• Manage profit/loss responsibility for assigned construction projects.
• Provide the administration and coordination of activities for the design and construction of construction and modernization projects.
• Ensure the quality and high standards of performance and compliance in both design and construction by all consultants, vendors, etc.
• Correct mistakes and errors in design and construction before then can be extensively incorporated into the project or as early in the construction process as possible.
• Make decisions on phasing and scheduling of projects.
• Prepare and/or ensure the preparation of schedules for planning, design, and construction.
• Monitor schedules and take appropriate actions to ensure that project is completed on schedule and within approved cost limitations.
• Provide ongoing interface with key project stakeholders on project issues; routinely interact with AECOM and client senior managers on such matters.
• Participate in the development and issuance of project procedures and policies.
• Resolve issues and problems raised in field reports made by architects and construction management staff.
• Work with architect/engineer of record regarding change orders, interpretation of contract documents, shop drawing submittals / approvals and other technical matters as required to ensure a structurally sound, code-compliant and aesthetic facility.
• Support LEED initiatives as applicable.
• May include oversight and documentation of building system commissioning processes in support of the quality assurance/control team prior to client handover

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.

Position requires experience in the following:

1. Investigation and resolution of design and construction issues, including reviewing design documents, change orders, punch lists, payment requisitions and contracts.
2. Project controls including phasing and scheduling.
3. Field technical inspections
4. Guiding lower-level project officers.
5. Issuing field memoranda or directives to contractors to enforce contract compliance.
6. On-site delegation and negotiation of change orders.
7. Reviewing contractor claims or disputed work and advising appropriate action.
8. Supporting implementing sustainable building practices for green building constructions/LEED.
9. Commissioning process of building systems.
