The opportunity
CSIRO is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to support the SKA-Low Telescope collaboration in Australia. In this pivotal role, you will partner with leaders and employees to provide practical HR advice, shape an inclusive employee experience, and support the people matters that underpin the success of the SKA-Low Collaboration team.
The SKA Observatory is an international collaboration building and operating two next-generation radio telescopes: SKA-Low in Australia and SKA-Mid in South Africa. In Australia, CSIRO is partnering with SKAO to host, build and operate SKA-Low at Inyarrimanha Ilgari Bundara, the CSIRO Murchison Radio-astronomy Observatory on Wajarri Yamaji Country in Western Australia.
Working across Perth, Geraldton and the CSIRO Murchison Radio-astronomy Observatory, you will collaborate with SKA-Low leaders, the SKAO HR Business Partner and CSIRO People teams to strengthen culture, capability, workforce planning and organisational effectiveness. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a globally significant science initiative while helping build culturally safe, inclusive and high-performing teams.
Your high-level duties will include:
- Coordinate and deliver operational HR services across recruitment, workforce planning, performance management, learning and development, team and culture initiatives, change management, reporting, and coaching for leaders and employees.
- Partner with SKA-Low leaders and the SKAO HR Business Partner to deliver the HR plan, including workforce and capability planning, career development, inclusive team practices, and promotion of CSIRO and SKAO values and a One Team culture.
- Provide trusted advice, coaching and mentoring to CSIRO-employed leaders and employees on complex HR and organisational matters, engaging People teams and Centres of Excellence where specialist support is required.
- Support culturally safe employment practices, Indigenous career pathways, inclusion and belonging across the SKA-Low Collaboration.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR services, provide feedback through governance forums, and collaborate across teams to deliver a responsive, consistent and high-quality employee experience.
Role particulars
Location and office arrangements: Perth or Geraldton, Western Australia, with preference given to Geraldton. Regular travel to Inyarrimanha Ilgari Bundara, the CSIRO Murchison Radio-astronomy Observatory on Wajarri Yamaji Country, will be required.
Salary: CSOF6 – AU$135,571 to AU$158,863 per annum, plus 15.4% superannuation
