We are looking for a Industrial Machinery Mechanic / Service Technician for our  Elgin, IL facility. The Industrial Machinery Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all production equipment and facility systems. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, supporting installations and retrofits, and maintaining accurate documentation. The IMM plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, supporting production goals, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Your Responsibilities

 

Preventive Maintenance & Repairs

• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance on all facility equipment in accordance with ERP schedules.
• Document all maintenance activities and ensure compliance with manufacturer standards.
• Provide timely emergency repairs to minimize production interruptions.
• Monitor equipment for shutdowns or process interruptions and develop action plans for resolution.

Equipment Reliability & Inventory

• Ensure equipment reliability targets are met and data is consistently updated on the server.
• Order parts, supplies, or equipment from catalogs or suppliers.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all safety protocols are followed and promote safe work practices among technicians.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including power alleys and support systems.

Training & Support

• Provide training to coating technicians on load building, batch exchanges, and maintenance procedures.
• Support Engineering Operations Support with facility projects and equipment installations or retrofits.

Communication & Collaboration

• Communicate effectively with the Center Manager and Engineering Operations Support team.
• Participate as a key member of the facility’s management team, contributing to strategic planning and operational improvements.
• Complete and communicate Technical Directives and Technical Information within the facility.
