Overview
The Private Bank credit team is tasked with managing the credit risk for Deutsche Bank’s Private Bank business. In particular, the Risk Officer is responsible for handling approvals for all private bank related transactions, retained on balance sheet. Additional tasks include setting and monitoring counterparty credit limits, negotiating term sheets, reviewing due diligence, and underwriting, and interfacing with senior management and business personnel. You will be expected to analyze and recommend approvals/declines, or new loan terms for proposed transactions that are secured asset types such as commercial real estate, art, private shares, residential properties, equity investments and/or or publicly listed equities and securities. You will act as the primary intermediary between the Business units, department heads and credit committees, assist in structuring transactions to achieve optimal risk/return outcomes, and monitor portfolio and financial/market developments within the private bank and related sectors. Experience leading/managing internal and external audit coordination is also required.

What You’ll Do
Analyze and recommend credit approval/declines or suggest new loan terms for proposed transactions that are either secured or unsecured
Act as the primary intermediary between the Business units, department heads and credit committees
Assist in structuring transactions to achieve optimal risk/return outcomes
Monitor portfolio and financial/market developments as needed to enhance response capability and corporate knowledge
Interact with internal business unit personnel to prepare credit reports and due diligence documentation that support Deutsche Bank's business strategies while operating within the constraints of Deutsche Bank’s risk appetite for Private Bank loans in a manner consistent with its policies and procedures
Monitor an existing portfolio, sponsor/guarantor financial capacity, Watchlist credits and prepare impairment analyses and memoranda as necessary
Maintain data integrity for all names / transactions in IT systems and assist and at times lead Private Bank’s Risk’s interactions with internal / external auditors and regulatory authorities and other Deutsche Bank infrastructure teams (Finance, Regulatory, Compliance, etc.)
Support any ad hoc projects assigned on a regional or global level
How You’ll Lead
Lead and train junior teammates
Interact with internal business personnel and relationship manager(s) to assist in the structuring of new loans or restructuring of existing loans
Interact with other teams throughout the Bank who have expertise on the underlying assets
Skills You’ll Need
Extensive years of relevant corporate credit, commercial real estate and/or structured finance experience
Balance sheet lending experience
Ability to analyze/review structured loans
Experience working with internal and external auditors

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is 125,000 to 203,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type
