Sr. Software Engineer - Technical Lead - Amazon Advertising, Measurement Signals

Amazon Advertising operates at the intersection of e-Commerce and Advertising, offering a rich array advertising solutions with the goal of helping our customers find and discover anything they want to buy. Amazon is investing heavily in building a world class advertising business to help advertisers reach Amazon customers across our owned and operated sites, on other high-quality sites across the web, and on millions of Kindles, streaming services, and mobile devices.
Our team's mandate is to accelerate adoption of the Amazon Shopper Panel, a new program that helps advertisers understand how their ads support their sales at other retailers – and through panel surveys, helps them improve their products and grow their businesses. It also provides immediate rewards to participants who choose to join the panel, and will benefit all of our customers in the form of better shopping, product, and advertising experiences.
As a Software Development Engineer III at Amazon, you will drive appropriate technology choices for the business, lead the way for continuous innovation, and shape the future of e-commerce. You will design, implement, troubleshoot and see your solutions live.
You will be working with Scala, Java, & Go in a web services based environment. You will be an expert in Apache/Spark and proficient with Big Data & Mobile technologies coming up with innovative solutions when building highly performant distributed systems. Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases is a necessary skill combined with strong data modeling. There are opportunities to expand existing offerings and building new systems from ground up.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
