Summary

SRP is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Senior Environmental Scientist/Engineer to oversee environmental compliance at several SRP Generating Stations. This role is responsible for managing air, water, and waste regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will serve as the Generating Stations on-site environmental lead, supporting safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible plant operations.

What You'll Do

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including air quality, water discharge, and waste management requirements.
  • Monitor and manage air emissions, including CEMS (Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems), and support permit reporting for Pinal County and ADEQ.
  • Oversee waste, water, stormwater management, and NPDES permitting compliance, including regular inspections and sampling.
  • Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams in accordance with applicable standards, ensuring proper documentation and disposal.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate environmental reports to regulatory agencies, including Title V reporting.
  • Lead internal environmental audits and support third-party or agency inspections.
  • Develop and maintain environmental compliance programs, including training for plant staff on best practices and regulatory updates.
  • Act as the primary environmental liaison for several SRP Generating Stations, coordinating with regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in incident investigations and support root cause analysis for environmental events or permit deviations.
  • Track and interpret regulatory changes and assess impacts on plant operations, recommending necessary actions or changes.
