About the role

Job Description:

The VP, Chief of Staff’s primary responsibilities will include driving key Trading department initiatives, surfacing business insights and creating executive presentations, enabling the Trading department head and senior team to deliver on strategic priorities. The role includes identifying key metrics and developing reporting that will surface opportunities and risks to the organization, creating and maintaining business reviews and other ceremonies to ensure consistent operational discipline on the health of the business. Additionally, the Chief of Staff will be responsible for tracking projects and holding stakeholders accountable for execution. As an execution-oriented consultant, the successful candidate will drive organizational excellence within Trading based on the priorities of the head of Trading. The person will act as an

extension of the Trading department head to promote informed decision-making and successful execution of department objectives

Successful candidate must have a strong skillset in the areas of organizational excellence, financial discipline, problem solving, and strategic agility. Additionally, they must have a demonstrated aptitude for developing and communicating business strategy, creating strong cross-functional alignment and driving rigorous execution in a complex, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Act as a key adviser to the department head and key senior business partners and serve as connection point across Trading’s leadership team and key partners to anticipate business needs and facilitate collaboration across teams.

  • Assist the department head in creating department goals and operationalizing the business plan. Establish and maintain effective business management and key metric reporting routines (business reviews, KPI tracking, etc). Manage data needs for the Trading department.

  • Implement and maintain a consistent approach to reporting, system utilization, training and other key areas of department enablement.

  • Prepare influential executive-level presentations to facilitate fact-based business decisions and deliver compelling recommendations and department updates

  • Coordinate and drive the execution of strategic initiatives and department-wide deliverables which drive a high level of adoption

  • Drive the employee experience and engagement efforts, including employee communications and change management

  • Ensure alignment and organization with Wealth Management COS for deliverables, providing viewpoint of Trading business needs for various planning exercises.

  • Partner with Finance to develop and efficiently track the department budget and resource allocation.  Manage complexities of the budget portfolio for both Trading projects and deal related expenditures, and department budget.  Work cross functionally across teams to forecast business needs for organic and inorganic growth.

  • Work cross-functionally with other business units (advisor solutions, compliance, human capital, legal, operations, service, technology, and others are needed)

  • Bring diverse groups together to drive collaborative management

  • Provide leadership, coaching and development to a team to achieve their goals, including managing their performance and fostering a collaborative work environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or other related discipline

  • 7-10 years’ experience in business management or financial services industry.  Trading experience

  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills.

Preferences:

  • Series 7 preferred;

  • Demonstrated ability in change management

  • Detail oriented and strong analytical skills.

  • Ability to effectively analyze situations and apply solutions to achieve resolution

  • Ability to identify and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders

  • Excellent presentation development (PowerPoint) and storytelling skills.  Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong executive presence

  • Expert level proficiency with the Microsoft Office product suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word required)

  • A natural and confident leader who can motivate employees

  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple initiatives concurrently in a very fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

  • Highly collaborative with experience leading and influencing teams and individuals across business lines, functional areas and leadership levels in an organization, courage to hold peers accountable
