POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for assuring the proper maintenance, service, and adjustment of audio, video, and lighting equipment within each of the four properties operated by the Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority. Sets up equipment for events held at RSCVA facilities to assure equipment operates reliably and continuously and meets the needs of the client.  Installs temporary power services, portable power distribution centers and maintenance of portable power cable and panels.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure the provision of reliable audio, video, and lighting equipment to clients via request, referrals, or direct solicitation.
• Review the work schedule to prioritize work assignments to fit the maintenance needs of audio, video, and lighting equipment. 
• Operate equipment and systems and ensure their reliable and continuous operation by regularly inspecting, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing audio/visual/lighting equipment issues.
• Use a variety of complex and difficult testing equipment to diagnose problems in audio, video, and lighting equipment.  Read and interpret blueprints and electronic schematics to effectively locate, diagnose, and correct operational problems.
• Assist with power connection and lighting setups.
• Install and maintain cable television and satellite equipment including pulling equipment, making cable feeds to departments needing them, etc.
• Determine the amounts and types of equipment required to install or repair audio, video, and lighting systems. Prepares simple sketches for the installation, alternation, or repair of such equipment.
• Calculate and determine cable needs and power requirements for each connection and verifies with Building Engineer.
• Repair and construct new cables, connections, and portable panels as needed.
• Assure prompt and timely set up of audio, video, and lighting equipment for events scheduled, and that the event is struck in a prompt and timely manner.  Meet with users of the facility prior to scheduled events to coordinate set up of the audio, video, and lighting systems to assure services provided to the user meet their needs. 
• Assure the prompt and courteous correction of deficiencies.
• Create and run computerized audio/visual shows for customers.
• Create and maintain an inventory listing of all AV and network equipment; maintain all required records and files.
