About the role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be a key contact working with the Development Team to build, deploy and maintain world-class applications for a leading Automotive Marketing and Technology company. #DevOps #System Administrator #SysAdmin

Responsibilities

  • Deploy virtual machines and administer Google Cloud Platform and GKE (Kubernetes)
  • Setup build and deployment plans
  • Setup monitoring of all applications including performance and uptime monitoring
  • Assist Development Team in Debugging Priority Issues
  • Work closely with the development and IT to build applications in a modular and scalable fashion

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related work experience
  • 5+ years' experience in IT support in a DevOps environment
  • 5+ years' administering .Net stack applications, windows, IIS, SQL Server, etc. OR
  • 5+ years' administering .Net/PHP stack applications, Linux, Apache, MySql, etc.
  • Administrative experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Continuous Deployment using tools such as GIT, TFS, Bit Bucket, Bamboo
  • Solid understanding of networking infrastructure and security, firewalls, IDS
  • Solid understanding of security principles in technology, SOC 2 compliance standards experience, a big plus!
  • Experience in performance, uptime monitoring, and debugging solutions through the IT stack
  • Knowledge in automation testing tools like SonarQube, Selenium or other similar tools
  • Working knowledge of Microservices and how they are applied in a cloud environment, especially as they relate to .NET, AZURE, AWS, GCP
  • Extensive experience with security principles: Authentication, authorization, OAUTH, SAML, public-private key encryption, asymmetric encryption, symmetric encryption, token validation, encoding, single sign-on
  • Knowledge of caching strategy to improve the performance of security systems
  • Monthly “On-Call” rotation with ability to respond 24-hours a day to emergencies
  • Monthly weekend rotation for Production Patching
  • A+, MCP, Dell certifications and Microsoft Office expertise, a plus!

COMPENSATION
This is a full-time, salaried, remote position headquartered in Herndon, VA. Compensation commensurate on experience. Participation in company benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, unlimited paid leave, 401(k) matching, wellness, and more.
