The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2600+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The INOPC team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries. HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) and HVDC Light are highly efficient alternatives for transmitting bulk power and for special purpose applications. The classic HVDC technology is used to transmit electric power over long distances by overhead transmission lines or submarine cables. It is also used to interconnect separate power systems, where traditional alternating current (AC) connections cannot be used. HVDC Light® is a power transmission technology developed by Hitachi Energy that offers additional benefits compared to HVDC Classic. You will work mainly with electrical design of main circuit equipment in projects with medium to high complexity.

Mission Statement:

Support the project team members and especially the Project Quality Manager on several quality topics related to the project. The Project Quality Specialist scope depends on the project where the role is applicable to a variety of tasks highlighted in the document based on applicability and resource need. The Project Quality Specialist has an important role to support project objective achievement in terms of quality, supplier quality and customer satisfaction.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Prepare MTP in PIMS based on contractual requirements and input received from PQM.

  • Maintain and update data in the MTP on regular intervals in PIMS by coordinating with stakeholders.

  • Prepare inspection notifications based on the MTP and information received from stakeholders and suppliers.

  • Coordinate inspections with customers and ensure alignment with planned inspections.

  • Witness FAT at supplier locations or review inspection reports/requirements in line with ITP as needed.

  • Ensure that reports comply with ITP and maintain all quality reports (IR, test reports, TTR, calibration reports of measuring instruments, etc.) in line with ITP.

  • Documentation of results from inspections.

  • Maintain a functional status summary, including ITP approval, inspection, and shipping clearance.

  • Maintain the QCP summary based on supplier responses and coordinate with the project team for updates.

  • Coordinating with PQM to create and update customer feedback (TNPS).

  • Following up on T-NPS scores, response rates, comments, and trends.

  • Providing support and guidance in the Salesforce tool.

  • Collect and inform business and application owner of T-NPS on improvements and requirements

  • Maintain the comprehensive status summary including planning, response, comments, and trends for TNPS

  •  Support in maintaining and developing project quality dashboards based on stakeholder input.

  • Coordinate with stakeholders to follow up on containment actions for QIT.

  • Coordinating with the project team to gather all the past lesson learned.

  • Distributing the output of the lessons learned in the various forums (PMO forum, PQM mailing list etc.). 

  • Creating lessons learned based on insights gained during execution & sharing this knowledge among stakeholders

Your Background:

  • Background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

  • You should have 8+ years of experience in tendering processes, project management, and on-site quality control, particularly in EPC / LSTK / HVDC projects.

  • Proficiency in ISO 9001 standards is additional advantage.
