Reporting into the VP of Operations and Service,the Production Engineering Manager plays a key role in enhancing production efficiency by driving process improvements, process control, and optimizing product manufacturability to ensure manufacturing readiness. With a strong focus on quality and reliability, the Production Engineering Team is dedicated to upholding the highest manufacturing standards while supporting and improving production operations. This team, composed of electrical and mechanical engineers, collaborates closely with operations supervisors and technicians to drive continuous improvements.
This position is part of the Operations Management team, located in Bellevue, WA and will be onsite.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
- Lead and manage a team of electrical and mechanical engineers working on multidisciplinary systems, providing guidance, fostering a culture of growth and development.
- Enhance manufacturing efficiency by optimizing the design of fixtures and tools for improved manufacturability.
- Leverage real-time data and insights from Gemba to identify and resolve operational issues, preventing line-down situations.
- Work cross-functionally with operations managers and the supply chain director to ensure on-time product delivery by addressing manufacturing challenges.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of Work Instructions to ensure consistency and accuracy in production processes.
- Lead and actively participate in Kaizen events, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support New Product Development (NPD) by owning manufacturing readiness preparations, ensuring a seamless transition from design to production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, operations, supply chain, service, and support, to align and optimize all aspects of production processes.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Systems Engineering
- 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing processes.
- At last 3+ years of people leadership experience
- Demonstrated hands on experience in process control and process improvement methods (VES).
It would be great if you also possess:
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent
- Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment, collaborating with colleagues from different background and disciplines
