FOOD SERVICE COORDINATOR GENERAL SUMMARY

Responsible for coordinating and supervising the functions of the Agency’s Food Services Department. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

  • Provides administrative direction, leadership and supervision of staff 
  • Applies sound personnel   practices in interviewing, selection and orientation of staff.
  • Supervises staff members in a fair and consistent manner; provides direction as necessary; leads by professional example.
  • Always takes immediate action in disciplinary situations; documents actions taken.
  • Consistently shares   information with subordinates in an appropriate and timely manner; demonstrates tact and discretion as required.
  • Demonstrates good leadership by developing standards of performance, determining areas of responsibility and accountability and delegating responsibilities.
  • Consistently motivates staff members in a positive manner; develops teamwork in accepting and practicing the policies and procedures of the Agency.
  • Ensures that all staff members have a clear definition of their work responsibilities and expectations for performance.
  • Conducts Employee Performance Management Activities 
  • Assumes primary responsibility for food ordering, for monitoring food preparation and for the serving activities in the main Kitchen and in the Children’s Crisis Stabilization Unit.
  • Oversees the inventory of all food items and supplies used in preparing meals 
  • Responsible for ensuring safe and sanitary conditions in the Main Kitchen & Dining Room  

Requirements

  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition or related field and must possess a current Food Handler Certificate. Experience in hospital or health care food service may substitute for the degree requirement on a year for year basis. One-year supervisory experience.
