Mandatory Internship – Quality Assurance (QA) Game Tester

SOFTGAMES has an opportunity for a smart and motivated student who loves games and is interested in the fields of Software Testing, Game Testing, Quality Assurance (QA) to join one of our leading teams as part of a mandatory internship ("Pflichtpraktikum") at an educational institution in Germany.

During your Internship as a Quality Assurance (QA) Game Tester you will play, test and report on multiple HTML5 games to develop your skills as a QA Tester. While this is primarily a QA Internship, it is also a great opportunity to gain insights into other areas of game development and the games industry as a whole.

This is a full-time opportunity based in Berlin, Germany with the flexibility to work from our Berlin office or remotely (or in a combination of the two). Other locations in Germany can be also considered.

Your role…

• Test new game releases and updates following established QA guidelines

• Find, reproduce, and accurately report issues in detailed bug reports

• Collaborate with other members of the team to identify and solve issues in games

• Help to further create new test cases and update existing procedures

• Work towards a release schedule within the expected time frames

• Follow up with users regarding bugs reported

• Help to develop and maintain the roadmap of tests for all releases and updates in our portfolio of games

• Provide qualitative feedback on features during early design stages, with an emphasis on the end user experience, quality, and testability

Your profile…

• Passionate about games, having an awareness of how different game elements contribute to the overall user experience

• Perfectionist, super multitasker with an incredible eye for detail - you are able to spot event the smallest bugs and problems in games

• Teamplayer working closely with other team members, working out what exactly is causing the issue at hand

• Independent thinker with strong problem-solving skills

• Being able to document findings and communicate them clearly to colleagues in English

• Being able to play the same games for extended periods of time and on a regular basis

• Available to work 40 hours/week, ideally for a 6 month period of time starting from mid to late September 2023
  
  

By the end of this internship you will have:

• First experience in the field of Quality Assurance (QA) and Testing of games / entertainment products and services at a Leading Instant Games company

• Experience working with JIRA ticketing system

• Technical insight into a wide range of Quality Assurance topics as well as devices from different manufacturers (Apple, Samsung, etc.) and operating systems (iOS, Android, etc.)

• Started in the games industry
