Job Summary:

  • The Support Services Leader is responsible to procure goods and services at the optimal value (security of supply, cost of ownership, competitive advantage) for The Lubrizol Corporation in alignment with Lubrizol business objectives.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Administrative:
    • Develops department policies and procedures.
    • Mentors requisitioners in following corporate procurement policies.
    • Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance.
    • Manages expense budgets.
    • Conducts performance reviews.
    • Trains, coaches and mentors employees.
    • Create and communicates procurement reports to management.
  • Sourcing and Supplier Management:
    • Ensure all practices/policies are followed when selecting and monitoring suppliers.
    • Ensure fair and ethical treatment of all supply relationships.
    • Active involvement with staff to address supplier issues.
    • Coordinates with Corporate Buyer to approve candidates for new Alliance Partners.
  • Negotiation and Contract Management:
    • Coordinate with Corporate Procurement Managers to negotiate, administer, and support complex supply agreements, access agreements and contracts.
    • Seek opportunities to leverage global spend.
    • Review and report supplier compliance to safety, cyber-security, and quality requirements.
    • Initiate new supplier requests.
  • Order Placement:
    • Ensure purchase orders including blanket purchase orders are placed promptly and follow all appropriate Lubrizol policies and practices.
    • Address A/P issues and ensure blocked invoice queues and GR/IR postings are properly managed by the staff.
    • Identify which methods are appropriate to purchase goods and services for Lubrizol.
    • Manage assigned commodities/services including all VMI and PPE inventory.
    • Review and approve Ariba and MWO requisitioning of services and material
  • Stores Management:
    • Directly supervises and handles all personnel issues related to Receiving Clerks.
    • Responsible for the organization and storage of all stocked items on property
    • Perform and manage cycle counts and inventory.
    • Investigate receiving / accounting issues.
    • Create and coordinate material master record requests with Corporate Vendor Master Department.
    • Coordinate with HR to provide access and training for new and existing personnel use of PPE vending machines.
    • Review and approve new inventory requests.          
  • Maintenance:
    • Fill in for Maintenance Coordinators as needed.
    • Manage plant SRV maintenance.
    • Act as site liaison for maintenance coordinators for the SAP PM module.
    • Ensure all maintenance personnel /new hires are entered into SAP and have time entry training.
  • Cost Reduction - Cost Savings:
    • Working with procurement management, establish targets for cost savings for the department.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings.
    • Direct specific initiatives to deliver additional savings.
  • Networking and Communication:
    • Develop the image of the purchasing group to be viewed as a world-class, value-added service organization.
    • Network with all departments and corporate seeking ways to best meet their purchasing needs.
    • Network with all departments to share purchasing's philosophy and the reason processes are in place:  to reduce risk, increase value, meet audit requirements, and operate in a legal and ethical manner.
    • Active involvement in outside professional groups.
    • Active involvement with Berkshire Hathaway and other consortium type opportunities.
    • Communication and training of procurement activities and policy changes
