The MBA Program at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2025 to teach BA 635: IT & Management.


Course Description:

Offers future business managers a rigorous study of information technologies that support the operational, administrative, and strategic needs of the organization, its business units, and individual employees. It includes fundamental concepts of information technology, major types of business information systems and their roles in organizations and, current issues in identifying, acquiring and implementing new technology applications. Primary focuses are the managerial aspects of information technologies for improving productivity and gaining competitive advantage in the global e-commerce environment. Societal and ethical impact of information technologies on organizations and human behavior will be analyzed. Future trends of new information technologies will also be discussed.

Minimum qualifications:

  • A Master of Business Administration or a master's degree in a related discipline
  • Active current experience in a role with expertise in IT management.
  • Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • A doctorate or equivalent
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.

Salary commensurate with degree level and experience

  • Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per full-time month

The salary schedule information for the Lecturer - Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges:

  • CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A - AY: $5,507 - $6,677 per full-time month 

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
