About the role
JOB PURPOSE:
Contribute towards on time delivery and cost control in the Ocean Fiber (SFO) Operations area through focus on improving product flow, process improvement, quality, training, equipment maintenance and inventory management.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Associates or Undergraduate Degree, preferably in a technical field
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)
3+ years of manufacturing experience
Six Sigma Green Belt
Knowledge of optical fiber manufacturing
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate on & lead teams during projects and initiatives.
- Day to day contact with operators, engineers, and maintenance.
- Daily Operations Support – Support the SFO area with product flow, production data analysis, participate in daily technical meetings and assist/lead the development of action plans to address chronic issues.
- Meet all SFO metric goals for Safety, Quality, Efficiency and Cost
- Drive technical improvements and maintenance upgrades
- Ensure Operational Readiness requirements are met on all projects
- Lead improvement efforts to eliminate chronic losses in the manufacturing systems

- Attention to detail
- Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be highly motivated and assertive with a strong commitment to success. Self-starter with "Can Do" attitude
- Demonstrated safety awareness and priority
- Ability to accept guidance and learn from experiences
- Hands on, should expect ~70% of time to be spent on the floor
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Must have good people skills and be team-oriented (member/leader). Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the organization
