Position Summary:
The person(s) hired into this role will contribute to world-class implementations of Global Indirect projects, supply agreements, and center-led category management. The individual will perform as a professional strategic sourcing project manager, act as a corporate representative of the Indirect initiatives, and interact with senior and executive management throughout the company. The primary categories this role will focus on will be Digital / Technology and Capital Expenditures, but there may be additional projects based on business priorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Identify, prioritize, lead and drive strategic and tactical Indirect Services Strategic Sourcing initiatives across Digital / Technology and CAPEX categories.
• Improve supply chain performance through risk mitigation, enhanced supplier relationships, negotiation of contracts, and the implementation of tools and methods.
• Develop capital equipment, machine tools, and industrial automation sourcing strategies, including contract negotiation.
• Develop enterprise software platforms, cloud migration, and system integrator partner strategies and business cases. Lead the strategic sourcing lifecycle to scope, select, and negotiate in these spaces.
• Serve as a project manager on high complexity and scale projects, communicating with sponsors directly without oversight, and exemplifying engagement management, stakeholder relationship management, risk management, and delivery management skills.
• Manage the development of financial models, define data requirements, identify assumptions, model cost-benefit analysis, and structure storyboards to communicate insights and results of analysis.
• Originate and create methodologies, project assets and tools, and ensure maintenance of those assets. Support direction and strategy for functional, industry, or technology methodologies, quality assurance, and toolsets used within the practice.
• Define Indirects roadmap through external benchmarking; obtain and analyze market intelligence such as supplier, customer and competitor data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Quantitative profile development, data analysis and business case development for strategic sourcing projects (supplier research, master data, market basket analysis, pricing analysis, etc.).
• Project management of sourcing initiatives from initial opportunity assessment through supplier engagement and implementation.
• Communication of category strategies and direction to all levels of the organization including Corporate and Dover Operating Companies (OpCos).
• Vendor management of strategic supplier partnerships and high-level relationships.
• Develop the rapport and confidence of our internal stakeholders and our suppliers to enhance collaboration and improve project adoption.
• Monthly/quarterly reporting of KPI’s (savings tracking, price variances, quality, delivery, inventory).
• Other ad hoc projects and analysis assigned.
• Must demonstrate commitment to safety & continual improvement of OH&S performance, registered standards, company policy, integrity, ethics and legal compliance.
Qualifications / Requirements/Desired Characteristics:
• Candidates should demonstrate at least 5 to 7 years’ experience in at least two of the following areas: Procurement, supply chain, finance, engineering / technical, manufacturing operations, management consulting, and project management. Prior experience in the following categories is a plus: Facilities, Professional Services, IT, Capex, Utilities, and Logistics.
