About the role

Overview

Atlassians can choose where they work – whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.

Our Talent Team is on a mission to attract, develop, and retain the talent Atlassian needs to thrive. We’re looking for a Head of Talent Enablement to help us make our mission a reality. Your job is to unleash the potential of the Talent Team. You'll ensure the team is operating effectively, delivering measurable impact, and helping the business achieve its objectives.

This role will sit on the Talent Team and report to the Head of Talent. This is an individual contributor role, but you’ll have a large remit and indirect leadership of highly impactful programs. This role could evolve into a people manager as the team and business grows. There is endless opportunity to have an impact at Atlassian and we’re looking for a strategic builder to help us achieve as much as we can in the years ahead.

You’ll “Play as a Team” and collaborate effectively with the Talent Team, partner teams (e.g., HRBP, DEI, Comp, Talent Acquisition), support teams (e.g., People Operations, People Insights, People Technology), and stakeholders to build a thriving talent ecosystem that meets the evolving needs of the business.

For this remote position, we’re looking for someone based in the Pacific Standard Time Zone (PST) to ensure effective collaboration with team members and partners in the United States, Australia, and India.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic partner and thought leader to the Head of Talent and Talent Leadership Team, representing their voice and best interests across the business

  • Manage the Talent roadmap, OKRs, and project portfolio, ensuring strategic prioritization, proper resource allocation, and measurable progress toward our goals

  • Oversee the Talent Team’s rhythm of business, including rituals and practices that enable optimal collaboration and progress in a globally distributed environment

  • Act as an intrapreneur within the organization, identifying opportunities for impact and implementing scalable solutions that achieve results

  • Build an ecosystem of talent systems, tools, processes, and standards that drive team efficiency and effectiveness

  • Serve as the primary liaison between partner teams (e.g., People Operations) ensuring effective collaboration and shared success

  • Amplify the use of Talent programs, products, and services through effective portfolio management, marketing, and communications

  • Drive program and product reviews, retrospectives, and needs assessments to enable a culture of continuous improvement

  • Oversee resource allocation and budget management to drive growth and meet the evolving needs of the business.

  • Empower the team to leverage AI tools, including Atlassian Rovo, to optimize workflows (e.g., content creation) and enhance our solutions (e.g., AI agents)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, related field, or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years of experience in leadership roles either as a people manager or individual contributor within the Talent space (e.g., Talent Management, Organizational Development, Performance Management, Learning & Development)

  • 5+ years of experience in Program Management, Business Management, Chief of Staff, or similar strategic roles driving success in a Talent organization

  • 5+ years of experience leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a global, distributed-first environment

  • Experience designing and implementing end-to-end talent solutions

  • Experience managing multiple complex projects and ensuring execution excellence

  • Experience collaborating with internal team members, partners, and stakeholders

  • Experience using data to guide decisions and improvements

  • Experience building trusted and productive relationships with colleagues at all levels

  • Experience creating a culture of continuous improvement and innovation

  • Experience building knowledge management systems

  • Experience with project management and collaboration tools

  • Experience leveraging AI tools to optimize talent workflows or solutions

  • Experience managing resources for an organization, including budgets and contracts
