Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We’re doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.

Information Systems Cybersecurity Intern/Co-op 

We are seeking a self-directed and motivated Cybersecurity oriented Information Systems intern or co-op with a passion for learning, creative problem solving, and collaboration in a fast growing, dynamic environment. This role will contribute to assessment of the policies, tools, and implementations used to protect Redwood’s operations & IP. Day to day functions will include utilizing in-place tools and assisting with improvements & implementation of new tools, policy creation & updating, and collaboration with other teams such as IT Support, IT Infrastructure, Software, and others to ensure security best-practices are employed across the company. 

Responsibilities may include:  

  • Assist in evaluating current standards, tools, visibility, and participate in further development of Redwood’s Information Security policies & plan.  
  • Develop standards for security procedures & protocols for on-premise services, cloud, and endpoint. 
  • Manage & monitor email filters, firewall logs, content filtering, IDS/IPS, and EDR. 
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of latest security principals & bad actor techniques. 
  • Collaborating with Network, System, Software, Controls, and Desktop teams to secure Corporate, On-premise, Cloud, and Operational Technology (OT) environments. 
  • Support corporate compliance efforts as it relates to IT and data procedures. 

Desired Qualifications:  

  • Majoring in Cybersecurity, CS, IS, or related fields. 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, MacOS, Linux, and Office 365 suite.
  • Knowledge of IDS/IPS, SSO&MFA, BEC Defense, and other security tools.
  • Ability to work well in teams and alone.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent customer service, attitude, and self-motivation.
  • A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place! 

 

This position may be arranged as either an Internship or a Co-op, depending on the candidate. Details: 

Internship - Summer 2024 (12 weeks). 

Co-op - Ranging from 4-9 months in duration. 

This position is located in the Reno, Nevada area. 

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
