Compensation 

· We’ll pay you an hourly rate of $19.00 to $20.00.

About the Job 

We need you to fill the role of Early Childhood Program Afternoon Administrator. The Afternoon Early Childhood Administrator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Early Childhood Program during afternoon hours until closing. This role ensures a safe, nurturing environment for children, supports staff, interacts with families, and occasionally performs health-related duties such as taking temperatures and administering medications according to center protocols. This is a full-time, non-exempt, position. 


You’ll wow us by masterfully performing the following key duties and responsibilities:   


Essential Functions

· Daily Operations: Support the overall operations of the center during afternoon hours, ensuring compliance with all licensing and center policies. 

· Classroom Coverage: Provide classroom coverage as needed; supporting staff and ensuring the continuity of care and education. 

· Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe environment for children and staff by adhering to health and safety regulations, including monitoring for potential hazards.

· Staff Supervision: Provide leadership and support to afternoon staff, including teachers and aides, ensuring effective program delivery and staff adherence to schedules and duties.

· Family Engagement: Serve as the primary contact for families during afternoon hours, handling inquiries, communicating updates, and addressing concerns promptly.

· Health Monitoring: Take children’s temperatures and administer medications as needed, following parental consent and center protocols.

· Program Coordination: Assist with afternoon programming, including overseeing activities, managing transitions, and ensuring that the daily schedule is followed.

· Closing Duties: Coordinate the closing of the facility, including completing closing checklists, securing the building, and preparing for the next day’s activities.

· Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records related to attendance, health checks, medication administration, and any incidents or parent communications.

· Emergency Response: Lead the response to emergencies during afternoon hours, including administering first aid, contacting parents, and implementing emergency procedures.

· Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

· Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.

· Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a childcare setting, preferably with administrative or supervisory responsibilities.

· Certifications: CPR, First Aid certification (Shalom Austin will cover the cost of certification for selected candidate).

· Ability to up to work up to 40 hours per week, including afternoons until closing.

· Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to multitask and handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.

· Personal Attributes: Dependable, patient, and passionate about working with young children and supporting their families.

· Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
