Full time, day shift, Monday through Friday

Position Summary:

The Medical Records Coordinator performs various duties to accurately maintain the records of our Hosparus Health patients and clients. This position will work closely with staff members, medical staff, community physicians, facilities, and others as needed to coordinate records and ensure the secure environment for our records.

Position Duties & Responsibilities:

• Attends and participates in department meetings and webinars.
• Monitors quality of data and record set to ensure accuracy of patient’s record.
• Monitors certifications and recertification statements to ensure timely receipt and accuracy.
• Sends out physician orders for signature.
• Processes incoming signed orders.
• Processes and organizes IPU charts.
• Processes requests for Release of Information to appropriate parties and ensures proper authorization is received prior to release.
• Provides physician licensure verification and updates physician maintenance.
• Monitors OIG exclusion list monthly.
• Processes admission paperwork, ensures accuracy, and works with teams on discrepancies.
• Processes all outgoing and incoming mail for the Medical Records Department.
• Scans documents accurately to patient record as needed.
• Processes required quality reporting to CMS for all patients.
• Prepares information and works with physicians/funeral homes for death certificates as required.
• Ensures timely response for all activities to meet required time frames according to regulations.
• Assists with organizing and maintaining off-site document storage.
• Collaborates with physician offices and facilities with coordination of records.
• Works with individuals, patients and families to release appropriate documents.
• Processes IDT reports weekly to attending physicians and collaborates with teams as necessary.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

• High school diploma required.
• 1-3 years of general office experience required.
