Job Summary:
- Database Design: Design and implement the databases that store the data required for opportunity identification and targeting applications. This involves understanding the data requirements, designing appropriate database schemas, and optimizing the database structure for performance and scalability.
- Data Modeling: Create data models that define how data will be organized and represented within the database. This includes designing dimensional and defining relationships between different data entities.
- ETL (Extract, Transform, Load): Design and implement ETL processes to extract data from source systems, transform it into a format suitable for analysis, and load it into the database. This involves understanding the source systems, defining data transformation logic, and optimizing the ETL process for efficiency and reliability.
- Performance Optimization: Responsible for optimizing the performance of the database. This includes tuning database queries, designing indexes, partitioning data, and optimizing data storage and retrieval mechanisms to ensure fast query response times and efficient use of resources.
- Scalability and Availability: Design the database infrastructure to ensure scalability and availability to support the organization's growing data needs. This may involve implementing clustering, replication, and other high-availability mechanisms to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted access to data.
- Collaboration with Power BI Developers: Collaborate closely with Power BI developers to understand their data requirements and provide guidance on database design and optimization. May also assist developers in writing efficient SQL queries and troubleshooting database-related issues.
- Documentation: Document the database design, data models, ETL processes, and other relevant aspects of the database architecture. This documentation serves as a reference for developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders involved in using and maintaining the applications.
