Richard Bland College (RBC) is a two-year, residential, liberal arts transfer institution that focuses on preparing students for transfer to highly ranked colleges and universities. The College is a hidden gem located outside the Tri-Cities region, featuring a rural setting with over 750 acres of wetlands, bucolic forest, and the state’s oldest and largest pecan grove.
RBC has an exciting opportunity for a Workforce & Professional Development Assistant Coordinator (WPDAC). Reporting to the Vice President/Chief Research and Innovation Officer (VP/CRIO), is responsible for providing assistance with the Richard Bland Colleges new Workforce and Professional Development Department focused on adult learners. This position is 100% grant funded. The WPDAC will be responsible for assisting with creating, supporting and sustaining programs and data linked to the UAS learning environments, Live Casino dealers training program and other related workforce development initiatives. To include the following programs:
• Assisting with development of the LIVE Casino dealers training program
• Assisting with the build out of a Drone Public Safety Training Academy
• Working directly with faculty and staff related to the RBC Drone Racing to Educate and Advance Mathematics - DREAM project
• Working directly with the Workforce Development Senior Program Manager towards building work- based learning opportunities related to the UAS program
• Working with multiple grant programs linked with the RBC UAS offerings.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Encourages UAS and STEM learning environments through recruitment and engagement.
• Assist with education and training, optimizing intervention uptake, effectiveness, and efficiency through best practices.
• Promotes healthy interactions among students and staff.
• Assists with high school and college students STEM learning practices and wellness activities that affirm their competence and efficacy towards the UAS certification and STEM majors.
• Document scope, key deliverables, timelines, metrics for success and monitoring/reporting processes for various programs.
• Assists with identifying approved students (based on criteria) for the UAS programs.
• Assists with virtual and in-person meetings designed to engage and sign students up for the related UAS programs.
• Assists with managing and organizing programs; demonstrates initiative.
• Assists with enrollment in online and campus classes, programs and events.
• Assists with reporting regularly on program results and ongoing assessment of outcomes.
• Fosters a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
• Demonstrates competency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Demonstrates communications skills, both orally and written, organizational skills, and pays attention to detail.
• Must have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, efficiently and effectively.
• Completes other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
• Associate degree
• Experience with public safety programming and/or related field.
• Evidence of experience with Uncrewed Aerial Systems.

• Considerable experience coordinating programs
