The Team:
This role will support the Index Data Acquisition & Content Subscriptions (iDACS) team within the S&P Dow Jones Indices division of S&P Global. The iDACS team is responsible for acquiring inbound third-party content from market data providers, subscription licensing, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the licensing and sourcing of critical market data that informs investment decisions and portfolio management strategies. This role demands a deep understanding of industry trends, data licensing agreements and vendor management.
Responsibilities and Impact:
- Lead commercial negotiations with third-party exchange and other market data content providers. Manage source selection, internal communication, contractual review, and internal processes.
- Maintain strong relationships with key data providers, industry associations, and regulatory bodies to enhance data sourcing capabilities.
- Negotiate optimal commercial terms with data providers to support internal and commercial use cases; develop creative commercial structures and terms that enable growth while mitigating risk and protecting business interests.
- Manage global data rights, review agreements for legal and financial obligations, and inform stakeholders of any nuances and/or vendor restrictions.
- Monitor market trends, competitor data offerings, and emerging data sources to inform strategic decisions regarding data acquisition and licensing.
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $85,773 to $127,766 Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience negotiating and managing data licensing agreements.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to think critically and assess complex challenges and develop effective negotiation strategies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFP, CFA) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial markets, investment products, and wealth management strategies preferred.
- Experience in AI and machine learning, Wealth, or DeFi preferred.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL) and experience with data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) preferred.
