Senior Accountant (Fixed Asset)

This is a remote position.

• Participate in month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and account schedules.
  
• Maintain and reconcile schedules for assigned asset and liability accounts.
  
• Assist in preparing schedules for external auditors.
  
• Manage the recording of newly acquired fixed assets, tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for fixed asset disposals. Includes preparing monthly roll-forward schedules.
  
• Maintain lease and service schedules for inter company billings.
  
• Calculate and submit various types of taxes (cannabis, property, franchise/excise, sales tax, etc.) across all entities.
  
• Conduct monthly OPEX reviews to ensure accurate cost classification.
  
• Perform Accounts Receivable activities related to leases, including CAM calculation and reconciliation.
  
• Assist and manage various ad hoc projects as required.
  
  

Requirements

• Qualifications/Skillsets:
  

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
    
  • 3-5 years of experience in an accountant role with exposure to fixed assets and taxes.
    
  • Has in depth experience in taxes - sales, excise, and county
    
  • Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
    
  • Proficient computer skills, especially in Excel, and familiarity with accounting systems.
    
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics, including sub ledgers.
    
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
    
  • Outstanding communication and teamwork abilities.
    
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly evolving industry.
    
  • Capability to pivot and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
