Job Summary:
The Security Shift Manager oversees the safety and security operations of the casino during assigned shifts. This role ensures the protection of guests, employees, and assets while maintaining compliance with gaming regulations and internal policies.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage security officers during the shift, ensuring proper coverage and adherence to protocols.
- Oversee live feeds and recordings to detect suspicious behavior or policy violations.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, disturbances, and guest complaints, coordinate with law enforcement when necessary.
- Ensure all security and safety policies are followed, including ID checks, restricted access areas, and gaming floor conduct.
- Provide on-the-job training and performance feedback to security personnel.
- Prepare detailed shift reports documenting incidents, staffing, and operational issues.
- Safeguard cash handling areas, vaults, and high-value assets • Review daily shift reports and follow up on incidents of importance.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, including System of Internal Control Standards (SICS) and Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS).
- Maintain training database of security supervisors, leads and officers.
- Review all incident reports for completeness and accuracy.
- Conduct follow-up investigations into a variety of criminal and non-criminal incidents as directed by the Security Manager.
- Maintain inventory log of lost and found and coordinate donation and disposal of long-term items.
- Assist the Security Manager in analyzing and recommending changes to staffing levels.
- Maintain equipment logs and recommend new purchases.
- Actively participate in all departmental and company meetings and training courses,
- Maintain a professional presence on the casino floor, assisting guests and de-escalating conflicts.
- Ensure operations comply with local gaming laws, health and safety regulations.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED, required.
- Associates or bachelors degree in criminal justice, business administration or business management, preferred.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in security or law enforcement and two (2) years of supervisory experience in security or law enforcement, preferably in a casino or hospitality environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Catawba Gaming License as required by tribal and state authorities.
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of gaming regulations and surveillance systems, a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication and conflict-resolution skills.
- CPR, First Aid, and security certifications, a plus.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work an alternate schedule as needed, to include nights, weekends and holidays.
