We are seeking a professional like you to join our team. Reporting to the EHS Director of Care Chemicals NA, you will be responsible for supporting, facilitating and implementing EHS programs designed to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements as needed through a shared business resource concept.
As a Senior EHS Specialist, You Create Chemistry By...
- Leveraging your education in Engineering, Science or an Environmental discipline and your experience implementing EHS programs in a chemical manufacturing environment, with an emphasis on environmental management, you will provide technical and regulatory expertise to ensure EHS compliance at the assigned site.
- Providing strategic leadership, you will work with management on identified EHS issues, recommendations, and opportunities to foster continuous improvement of EHS programs and culture.
- Relying on your technical expertise and your experience implementing environmental programs in a chemical manufacturing setting, you will manage federal, state and local environmental compliance programs which include air, waste and water programs(LDAR, Title V, RMP, RCRA, EPCRA,SPCC)
- Your experience with environmental, health and safety management systems will be a valued asset as you support implementation of Responsible Care® Management System.
- As a trusted advisor, you will serve as a technical resource on occupational safety regulatory compliance matters for OSHA and applicable industry standards as managed by the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH).
- Your unwavering commitment to workplace health and safety will be evident as you assist with implementation of corporate EHS policies and procedures (examples include Safe Work Permits, Job Safety Analysis, Management of Change, Incident/Accident investigation, HAZCOM, Training, Pre-startup safety reviews, etc.).
- Your effective communication skills will serve you well as you support the site by interfacing with regulatory agencies and third parties, as needed, on compliance and enforcement issues.
- Driving strategic decisions for the business, you will develop effective working relationships with site management, employees, and the EHS community to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.
- Your professional certification(s) in safety and environmental practices will be an asset as you communicate and facilitate the sharing of programs, procedures, and tools that promote a safe and healthy working environment.

- Education in Engineering, Science or an Environmental discipline or other related field and have relevant experience
- Experience implementing EHS programs in a chemical manufacturing environment
- Experience with health and safety management systems
- Professional certification(s) in safety is preferred
