JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Pursuant to Article VI, Section 9 of The Constitution of The Student Body of Florida Polytechnic University; "Unless a more restrictive standard is stated in the Constitution, to be eligible for an office within Student Government Association, a student must have and maintain an overall 2.5 grade point average on al work attempted as a member of the Student Body and conform to all requirements imposed by the Department of Student Affairs. Candidates for the offices of the Executive Branch shall have completed a minimum of three (3) academic semesters, excluding summer semesters, at Florida Polytechnic University.
Application is open on February 24, 2026 and will end on February 27, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.

JOB DESCRIPTION
SPRING 2026 GENERAL ELECTION POSITIONS:
Legislative Branch
SGA Senators (Technology, Engineering, Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Graduate, Undecided, On-Campus, and Off-Campus Representatives)
Job Description: The SGA Senators shall serve as the elected representatives of the Student Body to the SGA Senate and shall use their vote and their speaking rights to fulfill this role as representatives.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Attend, participate in, and vote in all meetings of the Senate.
- Attend, participate in, and vote in at minimum one (1) Senate Committee.
- Review and recommend budget allocations based on budget standards.
- Prepare for meetings beforehand to maximize temporal efficiency.
- Maintain conformity with applicable SGA governing documents in all business and university applications.
- Communicate with the Florida Poly community and their constituents as needed.
- Perform all other duties as necessary to execute the mission of the Florida Poly Student Government Association and as stated in SGA governing documents.
Qualifications:
- Must be in good academic standing.
- Must maintain a minimum of a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Must be a full-time student.
- Technology Representatives MUST be studying: Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering Management, or Business Analytics.
- Engineering Representatives MUST be studying: Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Cybersecurity Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
- Science Representatives MUST be studying: Applied Mathematics or Physics.
- Freshman Representative MUST have earned no more than 29 credits
- Sophomore Representative MUST have earned 40-59 credits
- Junior Representative MUST have earned 60-89 credits
- Senior Representative MUST have earned 90+ credits
- Graduate Representative MUST be a graduate student
