About the Role:
The Brock LINC is a department in the Research Enterprise that provides innovation supports for the Brock and Niagara community. This includes support for research commercialization, entrepreneurship, and industry partnerships.  

Reporting to the Executive Director, Innovation, Commercialization & Entrepreneurship, the Innovation Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating and administering the daily operations of the Brock LINC, which includes administering the university’s innovation facility, event coordination, and developing internal and external marketing communications and outreach initiatives to promote the Brock LINC. The Innovation Program Coordinator also manages a team of Brock LINC Team Assistants and a Marketing & Special Projects Assistant Co-op Student.  

The Innovation Program Coordinator, Brock LINC will: 

  • Be the lead facility contact for Brock’s 41,000 square foot innovation facility, which houses the university incubator, research spaces, technology spaces, entrepreneurship co-working spaces, and meeting and event spaces; 
  • Coordinate Brock LINC space and services for Brock LINC staff as well as internal and external partners;
  • Support the identification, organization, marketing, and coordination of a series of events and workshops supporting entrepreneurship, commercialization and partnerships as well as special or signature events for the Brock LINC;
  • Actively incorporate equity, diversity, and inclusion concepts and initiatives into all aspects of the marketing, communications and outreach initiatives, tasks and daily work responsibilities;
  • Develop and execute marketing and communications activity for the Brock LINC that generates awareness of support services to a variety of internal and external audiences;
  • Develop the Brock LINC content calendar outlining key activities that are distributed through various marketing channels, including Brock News stories, website, e-newsletter content, social media content, and paid advertising;
  • Manage the content, updates and posts to Brock LINC social media accounts, e-newsletter and website properties (including the development of photos, graphics, reels, videos, etc.);
  • Liaise with Marketing & Communications staff to support the development of Brock News stories on Brock LINC activities;  
  • Liaise with Marketing & Communications staff to ensure Brock LINC marketing and communications materials follow appropriate brand and communications guidelines;
  • Provide administrative support in the Brock LINC and facilitate the administrative processes such as processing supplier invoices, ad hoc payments, or cheque requisitions, ordering supplies and equipment, etc.;
  • Regularly liaise with other university partners to share resources, coordinate and/or deliver collaborative services;
  • Provide leadership to employees, including assigning tasks, supervising, coaching, mentoring and motivating.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a marketing or events role;
  • 1-2 years of experience required in a leadership, manager, or supervisor role; 
  • A valid G class driver’s license and an acceptable driver’s abstract;
  • Promotes and embodies inclusivity and respect within the workplace and the broader community;
  • Demonstrated scheduling, planning, and coordinating capabilities;
  • Proven events, marketing and communications experience;
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, including proven experience in customer service or advisory services;
  • Knowledge of graphic design software and tools, and video editing software and tools;
  • Skilled in establishing, and monitoring user experience benchmarks and metrics;
  • Solid computer application skills
