Job Profile Summary
The Nursing Lab Coordinator is responsible for keeping the Nursing Lab and the equipment in good working condition so that the students have the most optimum learning environment. The Coordinator also coordinates and maintains the day - to - day operation of the Nursing Lab for use by all Full Time, Part Time and Nursing Students, and performs related work as needed.
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
Minimum Experience/Training:
- Four years of relevant experience.
Minimum Certification/Licenses:
- Must have a current Florida RN License without restrictions.
Essential Functions:
- Daily -30%: Coordinates activities and training in the Nursing Lab with nursing students, part time lab coordinator, faculty, associate dean. Serves as the lead worker for others, performing periodic tests on simulators, evaluating issues related to and discussing any issues or concerns with the assigned clinical instructor as needed with students performances on a daily basis.
- Daily -20%: Maintains and monitors supplies being use in nursing lab, in a timely manner. Keeps up to date records of all items ordered and received. Arranges for all if any repair and/ or replacement of hardware items as needed. Assesses general placement of laboratory equipment throughout the year. Recommend equipment's that are needed in Nursing Lab for faculty.
- Daily -20%: Coordinates all safety - related tasks, including waste disposal issues. Assures the general cleanliness of the laboratory and coordinates with the other lab coordinator to maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment.
- Other, As Needed -10%: Prepares Nursing Lab for all upcoming semester for faculty and students, as well as assist with proctoring examinations.
- Daily -10%: Coordinates and implements nursing software to the nursing students, and faculty. Identifies and discusses any troubleshooting with associate dean related to the Nursing Lab. Recommends software and other peripheral equipment related to Lab.
- Daily -10%: Arranges for laboratory equipment to be moved as needed for the faculty in a timely manner. Maintains a professional work ethic in the nursing lab.

- In-depth functional knowledge and expertise in area of specialization and general knowledge of related areas in the College
- Ability to perform complex administrative analysis with only general supervision
- Strong diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent coordination and communication skills used appropriately influence the decision-making of individuals and groups at all levels in the College
- Ability to plan and manage own work flow, priorities and results accomplishment
- Requires the ability to present and disseminate data to various levels
- Requires advanced knowledge of computerized systems and operating environments i.e. Microsoft Office Products and specialized computer systems
- Ability to interact and effectively communicate with a diverse employee and student population
