Project Overview:
Bechtel Renewables team is to deliver the project management, engineering, procurement, construction, startup, and testing services for a utility-scale PV solar project, located near the town of Tivoli in Refugio County, Texas. When completed, the project will span more than 3400 acres and generate up to 495 MWdc of power from approximately 850,000 highly efficient bifacial solar modules.
Job Summary:
The Field Engineer - Electrical / Startup is responsible for overseeing operations within the applicable discipline and providing field engineering support with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover. Supports the Project Field Engineer, Superintendents, craft, and others, as assigned. Produces commissioning test documents in accordance with the agreed procedures and leads a team of technicians and subcontractors in the execution, documentation and review of commissioning tests and the results generated. Ensures assigned construction / startup operations and contractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets. Reports to Project Field Engineer for daily scheduled work priorities, and your work will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. #LI-SP1
Major Responsibilities:
Leadership/Supervision
- Supervision of the Commissioning technicians under their direct responsibility.
Work Planning & Packaging
- Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
- Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures.
- Interfaces in planning construction methods and procedures.
- Providing support to field supervision in establishing requirements for manpower, tools, equipment, and material requirements for a given work evolution.
- Developing installation work packages for scopes of work in support of the construction schedule.
Material Management
- Initiates requisitions for field purchases
- Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
- Assisting field procurement in receipt inspection and reporting of associated equipment and materials and preventive maintenance requirements.
Quantities
- Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
Safety / Quality Control
- Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely
