Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Director of Collaborative Delivery to be based in Boulder, Colorado.
The role of a Director of Collaborative Delivery in an engineering firm is multifaceted and pivotal to the overall success of projects. A Director of Collaborative Delivery serves as a bridge between the technical and business aspects of a project, ensuring that the organization achieves its financial and strategic objectives while maintaining strong client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the commercial operations of assigned projects, which includes effective oversight of the project’s contracts, subcontracts, earned value calculation, cashflow, risk management, and financial reporting.
- Active member of the management team and will provide guidance on all areas of responsibility.
- Help with commercial terms on collaborative delivery projects, starting with SRP and others identified in Central Water.
- Maintain relationships with Contractors in the Pacific West Market and build new ones
- Help support upcoming progressive design build pursuits in Los Angeles, San Diego, and possibly LA.
General
- Functions as a deputy reporting directly to the project/design manager with communication ties to teams’ internal principal(s), collectively, the project management team.
- Coordinates with other corporate teams such as finance, legal, HR, insurance, tax and the office of risk management to provide financial and commercial input reporting.
- Manages or collaborates with the project commercial teams consisting of schedulers, project analysts, document control manager, project accountants and other support teams.
- Highlights areas of concern to the project management team and assists in developing corrective actions and strategies.
- Develops and presents monthly commercial status updates to the region/business line leadership, risk review committees, etc.
Contract Oversight
- Supports the negotiation of contract terms and conditions.
- Implements procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with AECOM policy.
- Prepares correspondence and maintains records necessary to document the effective administration of contractual matters.
- Implements change management procedures and drives procedures throughout project lifecycle.
- Tracks and monitors the status of all potential and actual changes on the project.
- Leads the development of change cost and schedule impact analysis.
- Assists project/design manager with change negotiations and change order processing with the client.
- Works with project legal team to help develop and provide contract awareness and change management training for project staff.
- Administers prime contract and flow down terms to subconsultants.
- Develops potential back charges or claims to subconsultants.
- Oversees tracking of potential claims for or against AECOM.
- Assists the project/design manager with potential damages quantification.
- Liaise with internal and external counsel as required.
Risk Management
- Assists the project/design manager with the development and assembly of the project risk register with contribution from technical leadership on risk identification and risk mitigation plans.
- Leads regular project risk register updates and monitors the status of the risk mitigation plan.
Cost, Schedule, Cash Flow and Performance Monitoring
- Ensures the project unified work breakdown structure (WBS) and control accounts in compliance with best practices and AECOM policy.
