Our challenge

We are seeking a dynamic Product Owner to lead strategic technology product initiatives across our application and data platforms. The ideal candidate will serve as a critical liaison between investment, business, operations, and technology professionals, translating business needs into effective product solutions with executable roadmaps. This role requires a unique ability to blend business and technology expertise to define minimum viable product (MVP) solutions that deliver early and incremental business value.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY is $130k - $150k/year & benefits (see below).

  

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key liaison between investment, business, operations, and technology teams to translate business needs into exceptional product solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Define and prioritize the product roadmap, identifying MVPs that address business problems while driving early value delivery.
  • Foster exceptional cross-team collaboration, working across various functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Develop comprehensive business cases for proposed product solutions, including defining scope, solution design/architecture, timelines, cost estimates, and resource requirements.
  • Conduct build vs. buy analyses for solution evaluations to inform decision-making.
  • Document product requirements, specifications, and workflows, creating visuals of the product solution and its interconnections within the broader technology architecture.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to ensure product roadmaps are realistic and requirements are well-defined, minimizing development rework.
  • Implement metrics programs to measure product adoption and effectiveness, ensuring that business benefits are realized.
  • Analyze alternative courses of action and recommend complete solutions to undefined challenges, utilizing systems thinking to understand implications and interrelationships.
  • Own all aspects of the solution required for successful go-live, including data migration, training, and usage reporting.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to re-engineer and optimize business processes as needed to adopt new technology capabilities.
  • Prepare status reports for working teams and executive updates to communicate progress and insights effectively.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues throughout the delivery lifecycle, collaborating with business and technology stakeholders.

Requirements:

You are:

  • 8+ years of experience in delivering large-scale technology product implementations, owning the product vision and roadmap, and collaborating across large cross-functional teams.
  • College degree required; additional degree preferred.
  • Experience in Private Equity or alternative investments, with expertise in technology product areas such as investor portals/onboarding, CRM, portfolio management, fund accounting, and data platforms.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Investran, iLevel, Workday is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and various SDLC methodologies; Jira expertise strongly preferred.
